About Lionheart Whiskey Co.

We’re inspired by the values of Lionheart: having the courage to be exceptional. That’s the foundation that each of our hand-selected whiskeys are built upon—bold yet elegant, familiar yet new, and best shared with friends. You see, when you’re passionate about something, you want to be part of it, contribute in your own way. And then share it so others can enjoy and appreciate it as much as you do. That’s how Lionheart Whiskey Co. began.

Each expression of our barely legal rye whiskey is well balanced, sweet yet spicy. Every barrel is meticulously hand-chosen and then carefully blended for a one-of-a-kind flavor. For now, we’re focused on “barely legal rye” at 51%. This is a nod to the high-rye whiskey America was raised on, while bringing in notes of bourbon that our wonderful neighbors to the East created and we’ve grown to love. We invite you to gather with friends, share a bottle, and raise a glass to living boldly.

Simply put, quality is the foundation for our whiskey. And being able to contribute to the local and national whiskey community with Lionheart Whiskey Co.’s distinct flavors is an honor that we’re excited to share with you.

Distillation & Aging

Contract distilled by one of the best “big guys” in the game, our barrels age in rickhouses for at least five years.

Blending & Proofing

After our barrels mature, we bring them into the carriage house (our production room), then meticulously intertwine them to create our perfect blend—using only the best, natural Missouri limestone spring water to add a familiar taste of home.

Finishes & Bottling

Some barrels are selected for our experimental wood finishing series. Others go straight from the barrels or proofing tank into bottles. All of it happens right here in Hermann.

Raving Reviews

Welcoming & Knowledgeable

"Lionheart in Hermann, Missouri, delivered an outstanding whiskey tasting experience, even during the busy whiskey festival weekend when they were short-staffed. The staff was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, taking time to walk us through each pour with genuine passion and insight despite the hectic day. Every whiskey we tried was very good and each unique. The atmosphere was relaxed, rustic, and inviting, making it easy to enjoy the tasting and appreciate the care that goes into each bottle. Lionheart is a must-visit for any whiskey lover."

This small, family-owned distillery has everything you could want—an inviting atmosphere, fantastic service, and, of course, some of the best whiskey I’ve ever tasted. You can truly feel the passion and craftsmanship that goes into every bottle. The cozy setting makes it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the experience. If you’re a whiskey lover or just looking for a unique, local spot to visit, Lionheart Whiskey is a must."

Left with 2 Bottles & Great Memories

"Awesome little place in Herrman. Loved the tour of the distillery and the tasting. Left there with two bottles and great memories. Will be back!"

— Chris

Complex Tasting Notes & Smooth Finish

"Generally I'm not a rye whiskey fan and almost skipped Lionheart because of that. Thank goodness I didn't! Brandi had us feeling like family as soon as we walked through the door, while Ron slang cocktails with ease and a smile. The whiskey is blended well, has complex tasting notes and a smooth finish. The star of the weekend here though was the Campfire Old Fashioned. Definitely dessert in a glass. The crew not only shared the recipe, but demonstrated how it was made and sold all the components so it could be enjoyed at home. Overall experience 6 out of 5 stars."
